The Cold Emptiness
( IMAGE : John Hild )
The intertwining lanes
Of time
Lead to a corner,
Where winter
Swathes a
lone figure,
Skulking around
The silent shadows.
A muffler, a sweater
And thick woolen socks
Woven by a beloved,
Now gone,
Keeps away
The pain of
A chilly void
Filled with snowflakes
That flutter down
As memories
From a frozen past.
He waits.
The winter this time
Seems endless.
